Alphonso Mangoes is a that is considered by many to be one of the best in terms of sweetness and flavor. It is grown mainly in western and southern part of INDIA . It is in season April through May and the fruit weigh between 150g and 300g each.
Traditional Name: Ratnagiri Hapus. Also known as Alphanso Mangoes, Alphonso, Alfanso, Alfonso, Hapoos, Bombay Variety.
Scientific Name: Magnifera Indica
Colour: Raw Mango- Light green to Dark Green with or without red tinge around the stem
Ripe Mango- Golden yellow with or without red tinge around the stem.
Major Cultivating Areas: Ratnagiri District, Sindhudurg district, Raigad district and salem District
